A major donor and Partner for Surgery's Board of Directors initially pledged $75,000 towards a matching campaign. Due to the additional hardship and recent devastation in Guatemala caused by Hurricane's Eta and Iota, the Board has added $15,000 to their pledge. This means there is now $90,000 that can be matched before the end of the year!
In this particularly challenging year, Partner for Surgery needs strong donor support to continue these critical programs:
- Infant Nutrition Program: Over 200 babies with cleft lips and palates are receiving life-saving assistance until surgical teams are able to return after COVID-19 is under control.
- Life-changing surgery: Hundreds of patients awaiting surgery for hernias, tumors, and more, are being monitored while they wait for surgical teams to return.
- Retain critically needed staff: we need to retain our core staff to monitor patients, plan for the return of medical teams in early 2021 and provide public health education surrounding COVID-19 to our remote communities.
