The COVID-19 Pandemic poses grave risks to the nutritional status and survival of children with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate in rural Guatemala.
At the end of March 2020, Partner for Surgery was providing nutritional support to 159 children per month. Still, since April, that number has been increasing by approximately eight kids monthly. Today, there are 192 children registered, and there will be around 256 children by April 2021 when surgical missions will hopefully resume in Guatemala.
Our volunteer surgical teams are eager to come back next year to provide surgery for all children getting nourished through our community-based infant nutrition program. Until then, we invite you to join our efforts to minimize the risks of illness and malnutrition among our beautiful children.
